Internal Affairs

The Seat Pleasant Police Department is committed to a fair and transparent internal investigations process. We seek to strengthen the Community/Police relationships through the fair and timely resolution of individuals complaints. The Internal Affairs Division reviews all complaints of excessive force, abusive language, and/or harassment.


The Complaint Process
  1. Complete an official Citizen Complaint Form or prepare a written account of your complaint. This form is available online, at our police station, or City Hall.
  2. Submit your complaint at our Police Station located at 6011 Addison Road, Seat Pleasant, Maryland 20743 by mail or in person. You can also send complaints via email to PoliceChief@seatpleasantmd.gov.
  3. Reports should be filed as soon as possible. Complaints alleging excessive use of force must be notarized and filed within 90 days of the incident.
