Seat Pleasant, MD and HSR.health to Pilot the Advanced Smart Pandemic & Infectious Disease Response Engine (ASPIRE)
Effort will merge Healthcare Insights with Smart City Infrastructure to complement COVID-19 municipial response plan and improve Public Health
Seat Pleasant, MD, Wednesday, March 18, 2020 –As part of its response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Seat Pleasant is moving towards the next phase of Excellence by leveraging its growing Smart City infrastructure and technological partnerships to improve the healthcare of its residents.
Seat Pleasant, a Smart City of Excellence, is collaborating with HSR.health, a Maryland-based and globally recognized innovative population health firm to develop and deploy Smart city-based solutions to advance public health and respond effectively to the COVID-19 pandemic, particularly in a community with 20% senior citizens. To achieve this, Seat Pleasant will launch a pilot of the Advancned Smart Pandemic & Infectious Disease Response (ASPIRE).
The ASPIRE pilot will bring together Seat Pleasant’s Smart City Platforms and Solutions and HSR.health’s geospatial-based population health applications to launch measures improving the health outcomes of its residents. As part of the City’s COVID-19 response, HSR.health will implement a predictive tracking and modeling tool for the spread of infections, pandemic risk management and real-time capacity planning to facilitate pandemic response, and use of the ASPIRE technology to assist and enable self-quarantine efforts.
To continue to set a standard of excellence in public health management, Seat Pleaant will utilize HSR.health’s geospatial-based population health applicatiom, the GeoHealth Platform.This effort is another major step towards achieving goals of using data to improve the delivery of high-quality healthcare, improve health outcomes and access – which will reduce costs both locally and across the entire healthcare system.
By assessing utilization and allocation of healthcare resources, as well as improving delivery of high-quality care, Seat Pleasant’s Center for Government Synergism (CGS) and the GeoHealth Platform can work towards eliminating health disparities. This collaboration has the potential to pave the way to health equity through the analysis of health inequities and implementation of solutions, as well as the reduction of healthcare costs and increases in access.
