Anthony Biddiex

Human Resources Director

Mr. Biddiex graduated with a Masters of Administration in HR Management from the Trinity Washington University after receiving his Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University with a major in Psychology focusing on Child and Adolescent Development. Biddiex also serves as an active member of The Urban Alliance Foundation and DC College Success Foundation, which focus on helping under-resourced youth through internships, mentorship, and scholarships.

Human Resources will take a leadership role and provide services in support of The City of Seat Pleasant’s vision by promoting the concepts that our employees are our most valuable resource and will be treated as such.

The Human Resources department will act as a catalyst to enable all City of Seat Pleasants’ employees to obtain optimum levels toward the success of the business and City of Seat Pleasant.

We will do this by:

  • Ensuring the human resources department staff are given the tools, training and motivation to operate in the most efficient and effective manner.
  • Promoting and recruiting the best-qualified people, recognizing and encouraging the value of diversity in the workplace.
  • Retaining our valued employees by: assuring effective leadership qualities in our managers; providing competitive wages and benefits; furnishing technical, interpersonal and career development training and coaching; conducting exit interviews and supplying relevant feedback to management and enhancing two-way communication between employees and management.
  • Providing a work atmosphere that is safe, healthy, and secure and conscious of long-term family and community goals.
  • Establishing, administering and effectively communication sound policies, rules and practices that treat employees with dignity and equality while maintaining company compliance with employment and labor laws, corporate directives and labor agreement.

The City of Seat Pleasant is now accepting applications for community students between the ages of 15 to 19 that would like to work within City Hall in the Summer of 2019. This will give students the opportunity to obtain work skills, acquire a responsible work attitude and learn good work habits. It is a chance for you to earn money while you learn about work. *January 1, (the legal public holiday for New Year’s Day). For most Federal employees, January 2, will be treated as a holiday for pay and leave purposes. (See section 3(a) of Executive order 11582, February 11, 1971.) Note: Inauguration Day, January 20, 2017, falls on a Friday. An employee who works in the District of Columbia, Montgomery or Prince George’s Counties in Maryland, Arlington or Fairfax Counties in Virginia, or the cities of Alexandria or Fairfax in Virginia, and who is regularly scheduled to perform non-overtime work on Inauguration Day, is entitled to a holiday. (See 5 U.S.C. 6103(c).) There is no in-lieu-of holiday for employees who are not regularly scheduled to work on Inauguration Day.
