Dominique J. Brown has over 25 years of Business Managment within the Federal Government, both Domestic and Foreign Military, as well as Defense Contracting. Having worked as an Operations and Logistics Director, Brown has developed a solid reputation for successfully and profitably managing numerous concurrent projects through all project phases from conception through completion within targeted cost, schedule, and compliance parameters. Sustaining a high safety performance reputation, maintaining quality standards, and minimizing corporate costs and liability have been a consistent result of my professional commitment. He has demonstrated the ability to identify and secure project resources and provide quality leadership that invokes committed professional participation on the government, contract and subcontract levels.

Public Works provides essential services to the citizens of the City of Seat Pleasant in a prompt, courteous, safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner. Public Works, through its dedicated employees, strives to plan, design, build, maintain, and operate public infrastructure in a manner that respects the environment and the ability of government to adequately preserve these assets for succeeding generations with the ultimate goal of becoming a Smart City. Residential Recycling Program Bates Trucking provides curbside recycling collection for the City of Seat Pleasant residents and citizens. Recycling is your opportunity to keep Seat Pleasant a clean and healthy place to live. It is easy, saves energy and is good for the environment. By placing your recycling bin at the curb once a week on Thursday alongside your regular trash, you can help reduce the amount of trash that is disposed of at the landfill. 

Blue Recycling Bins Blue Recycling bins can be obtained from the Public Works department located at the rear of City Hall, 6301 Addison Road.

  • Empty aerosol cans
  • Aluminum, bimetal, ferrous, and steel containers

    Mixed paper/corrugated cardboard:

  • All paper
  • Aseptic/gable-top milk and juice cartons
  • Catalogs
  • Corrugated cardboard (boxes)
  • Frozen Food Packaging

  • Bagged grocery bags, shrink wrap, and stretch-film (Insert all bags within one bag; no loose single bags)

  • Wide-mouth containers such as peanut butter, yogurt, cottage cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise and whipped topping; margarine/butter tubs; and

*Remember to rinse all food and beverage containers and to recap or place the lids in the recycling cart/bin.

Bulk Trash

Bulk Trash Collection:

Bulky Trash Collection is provided by appointment only. To request Bulky Trash collection, residents must call Bates Trucking at 301-773-2069 by Tuesday, no later than 2 p.m. to have bulk trash picked-up on Wednesday. This service is free of charge, however, there is a three (3) item limit. If the homeowner fails to place items at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on the scheduled collection day and the items are not picked up, the homeowner will have to reschedule for collection the following week. If there are too many items to be disposed of, residents may contact the City of Seat Pleasant Public Works Department at 301-336-2600 for an estimate to remove bulk trash.

Trash collection in the City of Seat Pleasant is handled by Bates Trucking.  Residents should place their refuse containers at the front curb by 6:30 a.m on Monday and Thursday. Refuse will be collected between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The contractor will empty containers and return them to your curbside. The homeowner is responsible for storing and cleaning the containers. Neither the City of Seat Pleasant nor Bates Trucking will be responsible for items not intended for collection that are placed next to refuse containers or for the removal of any containers other than regulation containers.

Pick-up

When placing out to be picked up please:  

  • Please put the required covered trash containers between the curb and sidewalk, or by the street, after dark the night before or prior to 7:00 a.m. on the correct collection day
  • Please ensure that the cover of the trash container is tightly closed
  • Please ensure that the trash containers are accessible so that nothing will hinder or impede trash collection by Bates employees

Acceptable Materials

  • Garbage: food wastes accumulated in normal household use
  • Trash: some plastics and ashes

Holidays

Refuse collection services will not be provided on the following holidays:

  • New Year’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day
  • Thanksgiving Day
  • Christmas Day

The collection will resume on the next regularly scheduled collection day.
