The City of Seat Pleasant Master Plan

On September 10, 2018, the City Council has adopted the official Master Plan for the City of Seat Pleasant. Seat Pleasant has established long-range strategies focused on community development and sustainability through the use of a Master Plan. As a blueprint for the future, this plan identifies economic, land use, and infrastructure development and/or redevelopment, which includes transportation, housing, and public facilities.

The completion of the City of Seat Pleasants Master Plan was coordinated by the Seat Pleasant Economic Development Department, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, LLP. and included the assistance, engagement, and participation from the citizens of Seat Pleasant. This plan identifies jurisdictional needs ten to twenty-five years into the future.

history

Seat Pleasant is a friendly community located just over the District of Columbia line at its northeast corner. The site is part of what had been the Williams-Berry estate until the descendants of General Otho Holland Williams, a Revolutionary War hero, and James Berry, a mid-17th-century Puritan leader, sold it to Joseph Gregory in 1850.
